When it comes to owning a home or a business, you are required to get insurance for your property for a very good reason. When different types of damage occur, the cost to repair these damages may be almost impossible to pay without the help of insurance. However, if you do have a good insurance in place, they will cover most, if not all, of the repairs that need to be made to your home or business. Because so many different types of damage can potentially occur, your insurance will cover a vast multitude of issues. This article will discuss 3 different types of damage that your commercial or residential insurance will cover.
Mold Remediation
When an area of your home is exposed to moisture for an extended period of time, mold may begin to form. Depending on the type of mold that is created, it can be incredibly harmful to you and your family, and even deadly. In order to get rid of the mold problem, you will have to remove any surface that has been exposed to the mold and replace it. This will include dry wall, any wood that was affected, carpet, and other types of flooring. The air in the location will then need to be tested for mold spores to see if it is safe to breath. Mold removal can be a very expensive process, but, because this is something that is covered by your commercial and/or residential insurance, you won't have to pay for these repairs out of pocket.
Flood Damage
If you live in an area where water tables are high and/or excessive rain occurs, then you will likely have flood damage as part of your insurance coverage. If you have a basement in your residential or commercial location, this area is going to be especially affected by excessive amounts of water. If you find flooding in any part of your home, your insurance will cover the cost of not only having the water removed, but also the cost of repairing all of the walls, flooring, and other items that the water damaged or destroyed.
Fire Damage
One of the most common types of damage that your insurance will cover is going to be fire damage. Whether the damage was located to one area of your home or business, or if it burned your entire home or business to the ground, the insurance will access the damage and look into covering the cost of repairs or rebuilding. Knowing that all hope is not lost in this type of a situation is incredibly comforting and will help you to move forward.
